BUCKS COUNTY, PA — One of the most popular horror movie franchises of all time is celebrating its 40th birthday. For four decades, Jason Voorhees (and sometimes his mom) have been terrorizing unsuspecting teenagers, and this year marks a milestone anniversary for the slasher movie, "Friday the 13th."

Select theaters in Pennsylvania will be showing the original "Friday the 13th" on Oct. 4, 6 and 7.
The "Friday the 13th" franchise has spawned a total of 12 films — with rumors of a 13th movie in the works. The 1980 original will be shown restored and remastered on the big screen.

Viewers can watch the counselors of Camp Crystal Lake as they're menaced by the hockey-mask wearing killer at:

  • Regal Oxford Valley 14, at 403 Middletown Blvd. in Langhorne.
  • AMC Neshaminy 24, 3900 Rockhill Dr. in Bensalem.

Tickets and a full list of theaters and show times can be found online.
